UNIFORM

At DM Studios, we believe that wearing studio uniforms give students a sense of belonging to our family as well as creating an identity for our studio in the greater community.

Our uniforms also:

• Encourage discipline
• Help students resist peer pressure to buy stylish clothes for class
• Help identify non-students in the studio
• Diminish economic and social barriers between students
• Increase a sense of belonging and school pride
• Improve attendance

Please ensure all parts of your child’s uniform are clearly labelled – individual shoes, socks, underpants…you’ll be amazed at the amount of lost property we generate!

Uniform requirements are as follows:

ISTD Ballet

Pre-Primary – Pink ballet skirted leotard or black leotard and skirt (this is the uniform for the older grades). Pink ballet socks or tights. Pink ballet shoes. Mulberry waist band (to wear with Black leotard) optional. Mulberry headband optional. Mulberry cross over cardigan optional.

Primary – Black leotard and skirt. Pink ballet socks or tights. Pink ballet shoes. Mulberry waist band. Mulberry headband optional. Mulberry cross over cardigan optional.

Grades – Black leotard. Pink Ballet tights. Pink ballet shoes. Mulberry waist band. Mulberry headband optional. Mulberry cross over cardigan optional.

Boys – White t-shirt. Black shorts or Black stirrup tights. White socks. White ballet shoes.

Hair should be worn back and off the face in a classical bun using hairpins and hair net for girls. Headbands help to keep hair out of the face.

ISTD Tap

All grades – Black leotard. Black leggings. Black socks. Black tap shoes (with toe and heel taps).

Mulberry waist band. Mulberry headband optional.

Boys – Black shorts. Black DM Dance Academy t-shirt. Black socks. Black tap shoes (with toe and heel taps).

Hair should be back and off the face. Headbands help to keep hair out of the face.

ISTD Modern

All grades – Black leotard. Black leggings. Bare feet or tan foot thongs. Mulberry waist band.

Mulberry headband optional.
Boys – Black shorts. Black DM Dance Academy t-shirt. Bare feet.

Acrobatic Arts

All Grades – Black cycle shorts and black DM t-shirt (black leotard worn underneath optional). Bare feet.
Boys – Black biketard. Bare feet.

DM Youth Theatre

Black jazz pants or black non logo joggers. Jazz shoes and DM Youth theatre t-shirt.

Dinky Movers 

Comfortable clothing. Leggings and t-shirt. Bare feet.

Combo Classes ( Ballet, Tap & Modern)

Combination class – Same as black leotard, tan convertible tights. Plus Tap and ballet shoes. (Black ballet skirt for Minis). Mulberry headband optional.

Boys – black shorts, black DM t-shirt. Tap and ballet shoes and black socks.

Hair should be back and off the face. Headbands help to keep hair out of the face.

Street Dance

Black and Pink dance wear suitable for this style. Clean white soled trainers or jazz shoes.

Hair should be back and off the face. Headbands help to keep hair out of the face.

NO JEWELLERY TO BE WORN AT ALL IN CLASS. FOR NEWLY PIERCED EARS PLEASE PLACE PLASTERS OVER THE TOP OF STUDS AND BACKING.

NO DANCE SHOES ARE TO BE WORN OUTSIDE!
